For its age, the property is very well maintained and it was a pleasure to stay there. The owners were present every day and I saw them engage with guests all the time which shows they are committed to their guests and their property. The staff were all wonderful and attentive from the front desk people, the restaurant servers, the bartender, and the porter. The included breakfast was great, the food at Jack’s Brasserie was delicious, and the views from our balconies were beautiful

    I liked Wengen very much.

I liked Wengen very much. There’s a decent selection of restaurants and a few shops to browse around. It’s easy to get to and easy to get to Mürren and Grindelwald from. The scenery is stunning and everyone was very friendly. A great stay

Our first trip to Wengen and although it’s a trek to get there it is easy using Swiss rail network. Fabulous mountain village and benefits from being traffic free. The skiing was great although not extensive and other areas are a challenge to get to but enough above the town for a weeks casual skiing. Those who like to travel around may find it restrictive. There is one T bar lift to get back to Wengen if you traverse to Klein Schenigg which is a pain but you can either ski down to Wengen or take the train if T bars are not your thing ( not ours!). The town has a range or bars and restaurants but is peaceful. A few shops too selling ski wear, walking gear and Swiss stuff as you would expect. Local food shops are well stocked as well. We used the COOP mainly. They also sell firewood if your place has a log burner. We went to ski but would love to go back in warmer times to trek as it looks fabulous!

Wengen was straight out of a postcard! The town was charming and the views were second to none. The vacation was wonderful for us as a couple, but is also very family friendly. There were well behaved dogs with many of the visitors as well. I cannot wait to return!

The setting in the Jungfrau Region is jaw-dropping.

The setting in the Jungfrau Region is jaw-dropping. Small village feel with accomodations ranging from rustic to luxurious. Traffic-free, except for the occassional taxi or public works vehicle. Train access to high apline environment is unparalleled! Just wish the snow was better in late January.

Stunning scenery wherever you go. Good mix of transport options (train, gondola, cable cars) - just need a bit of patience as only runs every 15-30 mins. Great place for sledding, walking and just enjoying the majestic mountains.

Very cute town with lots of local places to eat/drink and shop on the on-season. Since we were there during slack, there were VERY few options. Wouldn't recommend unless it's full-on winter or full-on summer!

We loved staying in the quiet town of Wengen and Edelweiss felt like coming home after a long day of hiking. The half board option was great such that we didn't need to leave and find food when so exhausted. Daniel and the other staff were super friendly and beyond helpful. They gave great advice on how to best use our time based on the weather and welcomed us as we arrived back every evening. Lastly, our view from our balcony was just amazing. If ever in Wengen again, I'd definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

This hotel far exceeded my expectations. Even the smaller room I booked had everything I needed, including a patio facing the mountain and a desk for me to work at (plus free drinks in the mini-bar!). The bar/lounge area was such a great space to grab a drink after a day of hiking, and I loved the pool/sauna/steam room area. Best of all, the hotel staff were so accommodating, even offering to move my room when I told them there was a noisy family next door. I will stay here next time I visit for sure!

Family-run business and getting to know Tomas. This was our first visit to Switzerland and Tomas went above and beyond to orient us to Wengen and the surrounding area. Great recommendations for hiking and other activities. My husband and I cannot thank him enough. Breakfast was lovely as was the dinner we had on our first evening. We felt very welcomed by Tomas and all of the staff at the Hotel Edelweiss. It was the ideal introduction to our Swiss adventure. We are so grateful.

Great location near train station in Wegnen. View was good (though the views at the top of Wengen are better). The apartment was roomy and had a washer/dryer. Nice big deck. Lots of comfortable seating in living room - plenty of space for a large family. Good value considering its Switzerland. Many toiletries, kitchen supplies provided. Stove/oven cook really well and the kitchen has everything you could possibly need.

Fantastic location with amazing views and in quieter area of Wengen, just outside hotel hike to Marys caffe which has wonderful panoramic scenery. Proximity to train station, cable car to ski, local ski place is additional benefit. Food is authentic, homemade with great selection of alcohol, eg: Scottish artisan gin Very useful shuffle bus from and to the hotel - no need to carry luggage. Hotel is cosy, well maintained.

The staff were excellent, provided courtesy lift from train station and recommended things to do during our stay. The breakfast was plentiful. The hotel is very close to the Wengen railway station with good connectivity to Lauterbrunnen and also right next to the Mannlichen cable car and has absolutely amazing views of the mountains! The room was clean and big and had a balcony overlooking the mountains. 10/10 recommend for people who can overlook some missing amenities. The view from the balcony can more than compensate for them :)

Beautiful quiet boutique hotel at the end of the main Dorfstrasse in Wengen, away from the busy train station. The restaurant with its cosy-rustic but elegant interior and the fabulous sun terrace is a stand-out. The dinner surpassed all expectations - you really don’t want to eat anywhere else. What a treat. Gonna be back for sure!!

The staff is friendly and helpful, and the shuttle to the train station is useful. The lobby is very attractive. I've stayed here before and it is my top choice in Wengen.

The view is unbeatable from the rooms. The location is also perfect, its a quiet place in Wengen. The man who owns the hotel (with his wife?) is also very nice and smily/positive. BUT: go to Gimmelwald. Wengen is too much touristy- Gimmelwald is the real Switzerland.
